Certified Home Inspection Services is a locally owned and operated inspection company providing home
inspections, building inspections and home energy audits in South Central Alaska. At Certified Home
Inspection Services we have provided inspection services in the Matanuska/Susitna Valley since 2002.
Our chief inspector was previously a general contractor specializing in residential construction and
has over 30 years experience.
Description of services:
Certified Home Inspection Services provides a variety of inspection services for residential real
estate including complete home inspections for buyers and sellers following the American Society of
Home Inspectors Standards of Practice; Siding Inspections per the NEFSI; Building Inspections for new
construction including Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, and Plumbing per The 2006 International
Residential Code; Plan Review and Consultation for owner/builders; Home Energy Ratings per the Alaska
Home Finance Cooperation; Air leak Point Identification including thermal imaging; residential radon
monitoring; and mold surveys.
Residential Home Inspection:
A buyers inspection is normally conducted after an offer has been made on the home you wish to buy.
The offer is often conditioned upon correcting of Health and Safety Issues, Major Concerns and Repair
items called by the inspector. At Certified Home Inspection Services, our inspections follow the
American Home Inspectors Association Standards of Practice.
New Construction Home Inspections:
This is a series of inspections performed for a builder or a person that is having a home built. We
also provide this service for owner/builders at Certified Home Inspection Services. The series
includes an inspection of the footings, foundation, water or damp proofing of the foundation, rough
in inspections of the structural, electrical, plumbing and mechanical components, insulation and
vapor barrier, and final inspection of the completed home. This will include a minimum of six
inspections.
